Reminder – April 1 Effective Date for Prepaid Accounts Rule

As Amy Kleinschmit has been mentioning in prior Memo articles, April 1 is the effective date for rule changes impacting prepaid accounts. The prepaid card issuer generally has the primary compliance obligation, but your institution still needs to understand the new rules if you sell prepaid cards and accounts. There is a recorded webinar that might be helpful available here.

April is Youth Month!

For the credit union movement, April is all about helping young members achieve their goals for the future by promoting financial education. That’s why each year, we celebrate National Credit Union Youth Month! This year, the theme is “The future is yours… Picture it! Save for it! Share it!” Learn more, get involved, and find all the resources you will need by visiting cuna.org/youthmonth. Be sure to share your Youth Month celebrations with the Memo by emailing to Shawn Brummer.
