The Credit Union Foundation of the Dakotas (CUFD) held their Third Annual Golf Scramble fundraiser at the gorgeous Apple Creek Country Club in Bismarck, North Dakota last week. We are thrilled to announce that participants and sponsors raised nearly $8,000 this year to be used for local charities, scholarships, financial literacy programs and social impact grants.

“We’re so thankful for the support our credit unions and business sponsors provided for our golf tournament,” says Darla Schafer, CEO of Flasher Community Credit Union and CUFD Board Chair. “We had beautiful weather for the outing and are excited to use the funds we raised to give back to our communities! We look forward to many more successful golf tournaments to come,” she added.

The Foundation would also like to extend a very special "Thank You" to our sponsors: Allied Solutions, The Advantage Network, Alloya Corporate FCU, Brady Martz & Associates, The Baker Group, Dakota Plains Credit Union, FISERV, Hometown Credit Union, Lewis & Clark Development Group, LSC, Millennium Corporate Credit Union/AIM Investments, North Star Community Credit Union, Railway Credit Union, and Route 66 Warranty!

In addition, this tournament wouldn't be possible without our awesome teams and players from the following credit unions: Area Community Credit Union, Capital Credit Union, Dakota Plains Credit Union, First Community Credit Union, Hometown Credit Union, LaMoure Credit Union, Norstar Federal Credit Union, North Star Community Credit Union, Prairie Federal Credit Union, Voyage Federal Credit Union, and Vue Community Credit Union.

While we think ALL of the teams are winners, the first place team on the course by their final score was from Brady Martz & Associates represented by players Ryan Bakke, Tory Hill and Alex Kalliokoski, shown right.

On behalf of the CUFD Board, we sincerely appreciate your participation and support of this annual event and for being flexible with the venue and date location. Next up is our popular Pub Crawl in Rapid City, South Dakota during our New Ideas Conference being held October 7 - 9. I encourage you to take part in the latest trends in the credit union movement and marketplace, and then quench your thirst for a good cause. You definitely won’t want to miss out!

If you know of an organization that meets the grant criteria, please encourage them to apply as the next grant deadline is approaching on November 1, 2019. Look for more information in the Memo and through your Credit Union Chapter, and don’t forget about the Chapter match!
