CUAD Compliance Networking Seeking Feedback

CUNA and CUAD partnered to expand the CUNA’s Compliance Community to include new league-level compliance communities. Dakota West CU Seeking Chief Financial Officer

Dakota West CU in Watford City, ND is seeking a Chief Financial Officer. The CFO is accountable for the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the credit union. The position plays a key role in the development of financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to the strategy and monitoring control systems designed to protect company assets and report accurate financial results. The CFO is expected to work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors; and to assume the responsibility of the CEO in their absence. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and 5-10 years previous financial institution finance/accounting or operations experience. Check Loss Prevention & Recovery PLUS, Member Contract Issues

In our ongoing effort to provide our members great educational sessions, the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas (CUAD) is providing a new learning opportunity on May 19-20 in Bismarck, North Dakota led by renowned presenter, Ty Parker. This program will be of value to all credit union professionals that assist members in person, online or by phone or mail with check issues, along with those who handle members’ checks and related problems. April is Youth Month

It’s time to start brainstorming and planning how your credit union is going to celebrate Youth Month in April. CUNA has announced the theme: MONEY MAGIC! SHARE, SPEND AND SAVE AT YOUR CREDIT UNION. Each year, National Credit Union Youth Month serves to encourage kids to develop healthy saving habits by making savings fun and exciting. This campaign is an opportunity for your credit union to engage with young members and show them that your credit union is there to help them throughout their financial journey. Now is the time to start brainstorming and planning how your credit union is going to celebrate. CUNA has some FREE downloads, including posters, coloring pages, logos, and more, to help you get started, and you can find them here. Upcoming Chapter Events

Red River Chapter presents Fargo Force Night on March 13th. Puck drop at 7:05 p.m. Join your chapter friends at Ice Garden for hot dogs, burgers, and more starting at 5:30 p.m. RSVP by March 6th to Laura Bryson. Cost for this event is $13/ticket.

 

Central Chapter meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 at Ryan’s Hanger – 100 4th Street SW (in Crossroad’s) in Huron. Meet at 6:00 p.m. for dinner, with program to follow: IRS Tax Fraud/Data Breach Notifications with Jody Gillespie with the South Dakota Attorney General Office. Missouri Valley Chapter “Art & Wine” social event will be held on Monday, March 30 at First Community CU downtown location at 425 N 5th Street in Bismarck. Social begins at 6:30 and class starts at 7:00 p.m. RSVP here by March 27.
