Town & Country CU Promotions and New Hires

Chelsea Gleich has been promoted to Senior Communications Specialist at Town & Country Credit Union. She has 10 years of experience in marketing and communications and holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Mary. She joined Town & Country in 2018 as a Marketing Specialist. In her new role, Gleich will plan and coordinate events, promotions and public relations campaigns designed to increase awareness and reinforce the credit union’s brand. She will also create and edit content for web, social media, print, advertising and internal communications, as well as serving as the community involvement coordinator for Town & Country locations in Western North Dakota.

Lindsey Anderson has recently joined the Town & Country team as the Director of Internal Audit. A Minot native, Anderson holds a degree in finance from the University of North Dakota and is a Certified Community Bank Internal Auditor. She brings five years of experience as an internal auditor for a regional bank to her new position. Prior to her audit experience, she also served as the Director of Investor Relations for a publicly traded real estate investment trust. As the Director of Internal Audit, Lindsey will be responsible for completing internal audits as well as working with outside audit firms to provide independent, objective feedback and assurance to the Town & Country Credit Union board and management team.

Stephanie Silverthorn has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Human Resources. Originally from Minot, Silverthorn is a graduate of Minot State University. She joined Town & Country Credit Union in 2014 as Executive Admin and HR Coordinator. In 2017, she was promoted to HR Generalist and in 2018 she was promoted to HR Director. Silverthorn earned her SHRM-CP Certification in 2017. Silverthorn brings more than nine years of HR experience to her new role as AVP, Human Resources. In addition to overseeing all functions of the HR Department, Silverthorn will focus on building a positive, employee-oriented culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and goal attainment. She will also lead recruitment efforts and the ongoing development of a high-performing workforce within the credit union.

 

Grant Opportunities from NCUF

The National Credit Union Foundation’s 2020 Grant cycle has two opportunities for credit unions. “Start at Home” – This grant effort seeks to increase credit union employee financial well-being through one discreet savings initiative, building short term savings through split deposit. Dakota Plains Search Begins for Next CEO

With the approaching retirement of Mike Reisnour this fall, Dakota Plains Credit Union (DPCU) has begun their search for the next President/CEO. Headquartered in Edgeley, North Dakota, the credit union also has branches in Ellendale and Enderlin. DPCU manages a growing and strong agricultural/commercial lending portfolio. The President/CEO position requires active participation in the community that promotes DPCU's visibility and continued growth.

 

The new President/CEO must have the ability to work collaboratively with the Board of Directors in defining DPCU’s strategic direction and must be an experienced executive who can provide outstanding leadership and direction, while overseeing the safety and soundness of the credit union's financial structure. The Board of Directors is seeking an individual with a proven track record of excellence, a high degree of integrity, and excellent communication skills. A thorough understanding of agriculture, commercial, mortgage and consumer lending is required.

A minimum of three years of experience as a senior officer of a financial institution or five years senior management experience in a financial institution of equal or greater size is desired. Educational background with a bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred. United Savings CU Seeking Business Lender

United Savings Credit Union is seeking a qualified, experienced candidate to join their team as a full-time business lender. This position will be based out of USCU’s Main office in Fargo, ND. The business lender will be responsible for establishing business relationships with commercial borrowers, explaining business products and services and ensuring loan quality through analysis of financial data and proper structuring of the credit, as well as looking for deposit growth opportunities for the credit union. Experience working with credit partners like the Small Business Administration (SBA), Bank of North Dakota (BND), and Pactola (CUSO) is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to three years of lending experience, preferably in commercial lending, as well as a degree in a business-related field. CUNA Award Entries Date Extended

In light of the COVID-19 circumstances, the CUNA Awards Committee has decided to extend due dates for applications this year to July 24. Be recognized for your good work! CUNA's National Award programs are designed to encourage and recognize distinguished credit unions that demonstrate social responsibility (the Dora Maxwell Award), the credit union philosophy (the Louise Herring Award), and financial education (the Desjardins Awards). In an effort to streamline the submission process for our member credit unions and to reduce financial and human resources spent on the submission process, CUNA and the leagues have collaborated to produce one standardized format and online submission process for our member credit unions.
