Attention Credit Union Communicators & Marketers!

Credit unions and credit union employees make a difference in their communities every day, especially when they are needed most. We are asking for your help in gathering some information for a project we are working on. The Credit Union Association of the Dakotas is producing a video that highlights and shares the amazing things credit unions do to help advance their communities. The “Dakota Credit Unions Advancing Communities” campaign video will be shared with lawmakers, community leaders, and the general public during the upcoming election cycle. We hope you can help us by sending updated high-res photos and/or video (shot horizontally) of your community impact efforts, such as staff working or volunteering in your community. This content would only be used during CUAD sponsored events and on our website and social media. Dakota Plains Seeking CEO

With the approaching retirement of Mike Reisnour this fall, Dakota Plains Credit Union (DPCU) has begun their search for the next President/CEO. Headquartered in Edgeley, North Dakota, the credit union also has branches in Ellendale and Enderlin. DPCU manages a growing and strong agricultural/commercial lending portfolio. The President/CEO position requires active participation in the community that promotes DPCU's visibility and continued growth. The new President/CEO must have the ability to work collaboratively with the Board of Directors in defining DPCU’s strategic direction and must be an experienced executive who can provide outstanding leadership and direction, while overseeing the safety and soundness of the credit union's financial structure. The Board of Directors is seeking an individual with a proven track record of excellence, a high degree of integrity, and excellent communication skills. A thorough understanding of agriculture, commercial, mortgage and consumer lending is required. A minimum of three years of experience as a senior officer of a financial institution or five years senior management experience in a financial institution of equal or greater size is desired. Educational background with a bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred. Vue Community Credit Union Seeking Business Lender


Vue Community Credit Union is seeking a qualified, experienced candidate to join their team as a full-time business lender. This position will be based out of Vue CCU’s Main office in Bismarck, ND. The business lender will be responsible for establishing business relationships with commercial borrowers, explaining business products and services and ensuring loan quality through analysis of financial data and proper structuring of the credit, as well as looking for deposit growth opportunities for the credit union. Experience working with credit partners like the Small Business Administration (SBA), Bank of North Dakota (BND), and Louis and Clark Foundation is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of commercial lending experience, as well as a degree in a business-related field. Voyage FCU Wild Water West Event – COVID Style

Voyage FCU in Sioux Falls, SD typically hosts an annual members’ gathering at Wild Water West that includes swimming, pizza, and fun – but unfortunately this year, the COVID crisis has changed their plans. However, they are still treating their members to tickets to the water park in exchange for a school supply donation! Now through August 14th, Voyage FCU members are invited to stop by any of the Voyage branches to exchange their donation for tickets. All donations will be distributed to local schools. NCUF Launches CUAid Disaster Recovery App

The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation), in collaboration with PSCU, is excited to announce the launch of a new CUAid Disaster Recovery app to streamline and connect credit union organizations with one another when disasters strike to quickly coordinate resources. The Disaster Recovery application serves as a “matching” service for credit unions to source and share emergency resources, such as generators, mobile branches and more to get credit unions back up and running as quickly as possible. Credit union organizations are encouraged to enroll in the free program to receive disaster preparedness resources, to input available resources to share with others and gain the ability to seek resources from others in times of need. HR Compliance Rule Changes Virtual Conference

A new opportunity for HR professionals to review current regulations is now available through CUNA HR Compliance Rule Changes Virtual Conference happening July 28 and 30. Attendees will address regulatory changes stemming from COVID-19 to better protect workers’ rights in addition to the health and safety of members and staff alike. This conference includes six, 45-minute sessions that will cover the latest regulatory changes related to the current pandemic and their impact on credit union policies. Remember – the CUNA Awards due dates for applications this year is July 24. Be recognized for your good work! CUNA's National Award programs are designed to encourage and recognize distinguished credit unions that demonstrate social responsibility (the Dora Maxwell Award), the credit union philosophy (the Louise Herring Award), and financial education (the Desjardins Awards). In an effort to streamline the submission process for our member credit unions and to reduce financial and human resources spent on the submission process, CUNA and the leagues have collaborated to produce one standardized format and online submission process for our member credit unions. CUAD Summit Scheduled for October!

The annual CUAD Summit will be held October 5 – 7, 2020 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center and Sheraton Hotel. Our Summit Meeting this year will take the place of our New Ideas Conference, which typically takes place in the fall. The New Ideas Conference will be added back into our 2021 event lineup. Our 2021 Annual Summit will return to a spring timeframe. We will announce in the Memo when registration opens – mark your calendars now, and we hope to see you there!
