Who’s Ready for ICU Day?

Each year we come together to celebrate International Credit Union Day (ICU Day) to raise awareness about what it means for members around the world to have a credit union as their financial partner. This year's global health crisis has been trying for many communities around the world, but credit unions stayed true to their cooperative principles and stepped up during this time of economic uncertainty.

This year's ICU Day theme “Inspiring hope for a global community” reflects how credit unions contribute to a brighter future by providing financial empowerment. To help our members, Dakota Credit Union Association (DAKCU) has once again created Facebook graphics to span the week of ICU Day (Oct 12-16) focusing on a few of the credit union principles. Shown below are the graphics we have available. These were sent via email to credit union CEOs and marketing departments earlier this week; however, if you did not receive the message you can request the graphics by emailing Lori Welder.

We know our collaborative efforts will keep a consistent message across the Dakotas this year, helping more consumers to consider credit unions as a better financial services option. We understand you may have marketing staff that has already created advertisements to promote your ICU Day events, but we hope you will join us in keeping a consistent, united message. Be sure to include these hashtags on social media when posting: #ICUDay #CUDifference.

National Credit Union Foundation and the World Council of Credit Unions have also suggested that credit unions put together a short video sharing the impact they have made in their communities on social media. Although optional, we highly encourage it as it will help show those in the Dakotas how credit unions make a large impact!

Lastly, Open Your Eyes poses are perfect for social media celebrations on and around ICU Day. If you are a contributor to the campaign, refer to the creative assets in the Contributor HQ to personalize a social media graphic or poster. If you're planning to take a selfie, remember to use an OYE pose, tag Dakota Credit Union Association, and use #CUDifference! Check out the OYE Creative Asset Guide in the Contributor HQ for reference on how to take the perfect Open Your Eyes photo.

How will you celebrate ICU Day on October 15?
