Condolences to Larry Wirt Family

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that a cherished employee of Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union, Larry Wirt, has passed away. Larry had been battling a non-covid related illness during most of 2020. He was a well-respected credit union colleague and joined the Sioux Falls FCU team more than 13 years ago. He will surely be missed, and we extend our most sincere condolences to his family and friends. You may view his obituary here.


Are You a Military Veteran?

In honor of Veterans Day on November 11, CUNA News wants to share stories of people in the credit union movement who have served in the military and how those experiences have shaped their credit union careers. They are looking for a brief description of your military experience, what you learned from it, and how your experience has influenced you and your credit union career, as well as photos or video.                                 GEM FCU Decorates Pumpkins for a Cause

In the month of October, GEM Federal CU in Minot, ND held a pumpkin contest. Each member of the credit union staff decorated a pumpkin, and then they were displayed in the credit union with photos posted on Facebook. Members and the public could vote for their favorite with the owner of the winning pumpkin receiving $250 to be donated to the non-profit organization of their choice. This year Stacey Wald’s pumpkin received the most votes, and her organization was the Minot Crime Stoppers.

Vue Community CU Seeking Mortgage Loan Processor

Vue Community CU in Bismarck, ND is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor. Primary duties will include assisting the mortgage loan officer and working with mortgage companies that purchase loans, as well as title companies, and appraisers. HUMDA and Escrow experience helpful, but not required. Dakota Plains CU Seeking Ag/Commercial Loan Officer

Dakota Plains CU in Edgeley, North Dakota is seeking an ag/commercial loan officer with 3 – 5 years of experience. The qualified individual must have a comprehensive understanding of ag/commercial lending, an ability to analyze and underwrite credits, and an ability to oversee and evaluate the entire loan portfolio. A bachelor’s degree in business, ag economics or related field is required. The chosen individual will be responsible for fostering relationships with new and existing members through written and oral communications. They will also prepare credit presentations for the loan committee and will work closely with the branch manager and consumer loan officers to provide solutions and products for members to positively promote the credit union in the community.

Pactola Seeking Credit Analyst

Pactola Commercial and Agricultural Lending is seeking a junior level credit analyst. The ideal candidate will have the minimum of a bachelor’s degree, excellent oral communication skills, good analytical skills, and the ability to write coherently. Previous experience in the commercial and/or agricultural lending field is not required but would be a plus. The chosen candidate will be based in Rapid City to learn under the tutelage of the Pactola team.
