Get Ready for 2021 DE Training!
by DakCU Communications

Since 1982, the Foundation’s Credit Union Development Education (DE) Program has inspired credit union professionals and advocates to leverage the unique business model of credit unions and serve our members and communities in new and better ways. While many training sessions focus on the “what” and “how” of credit union service and operations, the DE Program focuses on exploring the “why”. Over the course of training, DE participants will engage in lessons focused on the credit union difference, development issues, and empathy. Upon completion of the DE Program, individuals receive their CUDE designation and join thousands of DEs worldwide.

Due to the pandemic, the Foundation transitioned the DE Program to a virtual learning environment, and this spring, the Foundation will host two DE Training classes in a virtual format. Over four weeks, participants will engage in a mix of on-demand and live learning sessions. Live learning sessions will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (CT) for the duration of training.

Registration begins for the March and April DE Training Programs on January 12, 2021. Dates are: March 15 – April 9, 2021 or April 26 – May 21, 2021.

Please note, that with all the uncertainty around COVID-19, the Foundation will be running two registration cycles in 2021. They are hopeful they'll be able to resume in-person training in 2021 however, the health and safety of future DE participants are most important in determining how we will offer DE Training next year. Programming details, registration information, and scholarship applications for Fall 2021 DE Training will be shared in early June.
